“I have a dream” are four of the most famous and inspiring words ever spoken.  In a time when hatred ran unchecked and hostility flooded the streets and minds of this nation, one man dreamed to stand up and look to a day when love would always win.

We listened to some of Dr. King’s speech in Homeroom today, and the students were then asked to write their own “I have a dream” speeches.  They could be about anything from iPods being allowed in class to world peace.

The best of today was reading these speeches.  I was moved to tears reading a freshman’s recognition of the sacrifices that his father and grandfather have made and his dream to fulfill all of their dreams.

Once again, my dream was confirmed.  This stuff is too good to miss, and these kids need some way to show & tell their stories.
